Livin' on a prayer!

ahem, woah-o we're half way there. woah-o! livin' on a prayer!
This baby is 20 weeks!
Hooray baby J!

I don't even know where to begin...
so I'll start with our 11:30 apt yesterday with the u/s tech (aka what I wanted to be when I grew up)
profile of baby hanging out w/ Mr. Placenta

Dr. Seale says everything looks perfect. Measured at 20 weeks yesterday (baby is just 1 day off!)
HB was 137 and the U/S footage was by far the coolest thing I've seen this year... yet.
And I've only gained 6.5 lbs since the start of the pregnancy! Thank YOU elliptical!

Let's move on to the party...
After we put our families through torture last night we finally cut into our "reveal" cake!!!
BTW HARPS IN FAYETTEVILLE (FIESTA SQUARE) ROCKS SOCKS!!!
their number is 479-582-9566 and I highly recommend them! They're doing so good and the CAKE holy moly!! YUM!

Isn't it sweet as can be!?

Our little niece Carlie did the honors of cutting into the cake (love that girl) and...

BLUE!?! NO WAY!!!

Huzzah!!!
We were so shocked!! James and I would have both bet money that HE was a SHE but HE is a HE!!!!
We couldn't care less but we're SO excited to know that baby Jech is healthy and happy! And we're so glad to know what "it" is!
So YES we're working on names, I've had several people ask me today and of course our families last night. I have one name that I love love love and all I need is for James to say "yup that's it, lets do this" and I can shout it from the rooftops. I've been in the mindset that the baby is a girl so I had all of my girl bedding picked out and some tootie rompers. Next baby!!! LOL.

Here's what I have so far!
My PPB Boxy Backpack! This bad boy should be at my doorstep TONIGHT when I get home!
(at least that's what the tracking info said)

And I've decided on a super cute bedding! I've been eyeballing this bedding for about three weeks now and I keep going back to it. My friend Robin made a great point this weekend that it's nice to have sort of gender neutral bedding so I can re-purpose for the next baby. (awe what a good little hippy I am!)
So I've bought the 4-piece bedding set, rug, valances and changing pad today! And I found the 4 pc bedding set for 100$ cheaper than the baby specialty stores! (take THAT baby store!) hehe.

sweetness!
Anyway, I think that's all, as if it wasn't enough. I'm very excited! ~20 more weeks!

It's A... Mystery

We're 19 weeks today!
And we still don't know what "it" is...

It's A... Mystery

-Chinese gender predictor says girl
-The old wives tale tests say boy
-My husband & mom say girl
-Majority of my family says boy
- My girlfriends think girl
-The old timers at work say boy
-The needle/pencil test says girl
- Intelligender says boy
- Colby Grace had a very vivid dream it's a girl

So which is it? Which do you believe? Me: I'm lost as a goose.
For an answer with a 50/50 chance it sure is a tough one.
We have six more days until we find out!
Considering February is the shortest month, it sure has been the slowest to me.

*update* I took this pic first thing this AM
19 weeks and "1 day" or too much mexican food last night. ;)

Side note: feeling the baby flutter around every day now!! Apparently s/he likes food as much as mommy does! *happy food dance*

bliggity blog

I was in the middle of writing out this drawn out long A blog post and I decided to nix it.
I don't want to read my craziness and if I don't you sure as heck don't want to!

So... Treat others the way you wish to be treated. I need to keep that in mind, and any of you that "needed" that too I hope you keep it in your mind too. Not for anything in particular, just in general. :-D

I'm 18 weeks and change today!
in 11 days we will have our sonogram and if baby J cooperates we'll know if it's a him or a her!
I cannot wait!

Here's my bump from a couple weeks ago... side view is much easier to comprehend than the front view... front view is all love handles, muffin tops and thunder thighs. (why God why!?!?!)

I think this is week 16... or 17??? I can't remember!
Anyway nothing has changed in that department.

Fun fact: when I wake up in the morning my "bump" below my belly button is really hard and bulging out. SO every morning I "pet" the baby (freak) and tell it good morning... then I pet my furbaby Hank and tell him to gets the hell up because momma's gotta pee.
So loving.

What else... another useful and FUN fact!
If you're in need for a "last minute" babies sex reveal cake HARPS is the place to order! Other bakeries in Spring & Faye ask for 24-72 hours notice.
Harps is going to prebake a white cake for me, I'm going to call them with the proper color to fill in the middle and then I can do my follow up dr's appointment and run circles around the building. Meanwhile they'll be putting either pink or blue icing in the middle of the cake and then the outer layer will be white!

If we were waiting to reveal a few days later I'd do the whole "dye the actual cake pink or blue" but momma can't wait that long.

Aren't those sweet? Ours won't be as nice but that's A-OK!!!
James & I are having family out to eat Tuesday night where we will cut into the cake after dinner!!

Lastly: The Whitney Houston Pandora station is wonderful, kinda makes me sad too.

Happy Weekend Lovelies!!!

sense-suh-tive

Usually I am with Major Payne's philosophy, but today is not one of those days.
Other than before I even knew I was pregnant, today's been the most sensitive days for me.
Adele's "never mind I'll find someone like you" came on and I teared up feeling sorry for ol Adele.
Off and on today I've felt the urge to "have a good cry" or crawl under my desk and take a nap.

All kinds of weird shit has been happening...

- My boobs hurt e-v-e-r-y day!
- My dreams scare the crap out of me
    < dreams about drinking poision
< dreams about a hand gun accidentally going off
< dreams of little fingers coming up trough my stomach like my stomach is putty
- I'm so gassy I gross not only gross James out, but the dog and myself as well *barf*
- Sleeping through the night is a joke. I'm up at 3:00 or 4:00 AM every morning to pee
- Brushing my teeth is a bad experience. I almost throw up every time I brush them
- Perk: my scalp and face are dry! Making my pimples/acne a rare occasion
- My stomach pulsates all the time
- Walking up the stairs gets my heart pumping
- Ice cream is a gift from God.

I obsess about EVERYTHING. I'm going to drive Ashley Love, Mollie Samples & Jenny Samples BONKERS!!!! I have a feeling they will all show up at my house together one night and beat me senseless.

Blessed*

I just want to make a quick update and express to you all how excited and happy James and I are. Since we got married and started on our quest for baby Jech so many people we know have had a baby or announced that they're pregnant!
When I say so many people I don't mean like four or five I mean like fifteen or twenty! Off the top of my head I can name at least ten people that are expecting and several that have newborns. It is nuts! All I can think is PLAYMATES!!!
I am so excited! Sure they won't be able to do much at first, but in a few years: parties, schoolmates you name it! I cannot wait. Everytime I go upstairs to our bonus room I see summer parties and slumber parties. Now we just need a pool (and of course to never sell this house & stay here forever)!!
Maybe I just need to quit my job & become a full time mom and caretaker of other tiny tots! I think it would be wonderful, some of you are probably scoffing, "helllllz no I would never leave my kid with you". Haha, maybe one day I'll earn my stripes!
On another note those friends of mine that are currently wanting/thinking or trying to concieve, I just want to say I'm thinking about you and sending good baby vibes your way. I know without a doubt you'll make excellent moms and dads, and I can't wait for you to become them either!!!
I'd of never dreamed our child would grow up near and around so many people we already know, friends and family. Now that it's becoming more of a reality I wouldn't have it any other way!
Cheers!
*oh God I'm so excited I could squeal and/or cry. Silly hormones. ;)

Who Do You Follow?

I don't know about you, but I personally have gotten a bit tired of Facebook. I am not sure what it is, I felt the same way I did about Myspace and a few months later I cancelled it.
I don't think I'll deactivate my Facebook I've grown too attached to it.
I like that I can see what's going on with my family across the country and friends that are on travels.
My best reason to never delete it is that it's the only "tie" I have to my late friend Tamara. I can go to her page anytime I want and see all kinds of pictures! I wouldn't want to lose that.

So, since I've gotten a bit bored with Facebook I've turned to other things like Twitter & Instagram. I really enjoy both but sometimes they can feel cluttered and overwhelming. I can't stand for things to be cluttered so I started hitting the blog a little harder than I used to.

All of that brings me to this: Who do you follow? Would you recommend I follow someone you're following? Light or heavy hearted I enjoy most subject matter.

I've tried to make the commenting feature as easy as possible to use on my blog so please send me a comment, Facebook message, tweet, text, email, whatever and let me know who you'd recommend!

Week 16: the Chick fil a stage

My ever so skinny mother of two dental hygienist: "you don't look pregnant, if you wouldn't have said anything I wouldn't have noticed"
Me: "I don't think I look pregnant either, just fat"
Hygienist: "ah you're at the chick Fil A stage: you don't look pregnant just like you ate too much chick fil a."

So true. And I'd totally eat some chick fil a right about now.
Or anything really. kidding, I just ate ;)

On to the doctors appointment: I met Dr. Gorman, whose reputation preceded him. I was nervous to meet him as he's notorious for mentioning/getting on to you for your weight. With my weight creeping up I was nervous. I'm almost back to what I weighed in high school, being what I weighed in high school is a massive (pun intended) fear of mine; I'm about 20 lbs away from there. So if I gain more than 20 lbs through the pregnancy I'll be back to my chubby ass self and I'll hate the heck out of that. I understand that gaining weight is part of this. I just really wish the baby would think of the 3 R's: recycle, reduce, reuse (or repurpose) repurpose say my thigh fat for some baby weight, or start trimming off the love handles and on to the navel area.
Anyway, (sigh) I brought up health and fitness to Dr. Gorman, he wasn't concerned at all about my health (really?!?) and he said twice how impressed he was that I keep counting calories, water intake and exercising.

So let me quickly break this down for those of you who are interested
Calories: you need 1800-2000 a day! I've been hitting 1500-1700. I just need to stay away from "empty calories".
Water: I'm drinking 100+ oz water a day. By the end of the day I look like a barrel. He said its the nature of the beast and to keep drinking.
Exercising: long story short, I jogged HB got up to 160 BMP. No more jogging gotta stay at/around 140 BMP. Just like my genius friend Jenny said. We'll meet again soon jogging! Me and you buddy!!
Dr. Gorman was a super nice guy, I feel horrible I went in expecting the worst.

Also, heart beat of the baby sounded good and
our ULTRASOUND appointment is 2/28!!!!
That's when we get to find out the sex!!!

Anyway, that's the highlights of the Doctors appointment

In other news: James is turning 30 this weekend!!!! I'm much more excited about his birthday than he is.
Hank has issues: he has an intestional issue right now and on the mend after a pretty disasterious day yesterday. Poor puppy.
